Artist Will Receive Welfare Award

Miami artist Xavier Cortada will receive an award from the Child Welfare League of America during its national conference being held in Washington next week.

The Child Welfare League of America is dedicated to ensuring that disadvantaged children are protected from harm and given the tools needed to grow into healthy adults.

Cortada will receive a Champions for Children for his children welfare murals in Bolivia and Panama.

Cortada’s work has been exhibited on four continents and is in The World Bank’s permanent collection.
