Underwater HOA: Emerging Climate Trends Recap

Thanks for joining us!

Dear Friend,

Our second virtual Underwater HOA monthly meeting brought together students, professors, activists, and scientists for a great presentation by Dr. Ben Kirtman, Professor of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Miami’s Rosentiel School for Marine and Atmospheric Science. Many thanks to Dr. Kirtman for his thorough and insightful presentation on emerging climate trends and predictions, and to the many attendees we had this month, all creating an atmosphere of welcome dialogue and understanding surrounding the climate crisis as it is being experienced here in South Florida and in coastal cities around the world.

Please join us for our next monthly meeting on Wednesday July 1st, at 7:00pm, featuring guest speaker Sonia Chao, Director of the Center for Urban & Community Design at the University of Miami’s School of Architecture. We will also have breakout groups, offering attendees opportunities to take part in one of two Underwater HOA planning subcommittees:

  • Pinecrest UHOA chapter
  • Engagement, programming, and community outreach

You will be receiving an email with an invitation to register for July’s meeting in a few weeks.

Again, thank you for attending and playing your part in creating a virtual community space for conversation, sharing, and understanding in these challenging times, and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Sincerely,
