Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Books & Books in Pinecrest, FL from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for this month’s Underwater HOA meeting!
If you’re a concerned Florida homeowner and want to know how climate change will impact you and how you can better prepare for its effects, such as flooding and rising sea levels, please stop by! New members are always welcomed!
This month’s meeting will be featuring climate scientist, Katharine Mach. Mach is an Associate Professor at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science and a faculty scholar at the UM Abess Center, focusing on environmental science and policy. She previously was a Senior Research Scientist at Stanford University and Director of the Stanford Environment Assessment Facility. Mach also co-directed the scientific activities of Working Group II of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) from 2010 to 2015.
Mach’s research on risks and response options for climate change has led her to form effective adaptation methods that have been assessed in the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report and its Special Report on Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation.
Throughout the meeting, Mach will share her research with Underwater HOA and her perspective on how South Florida can better prepare for the impacts of climate change.
So join the conversation and engage with your fellow neighbors to work towards a brighter future for South Florida!
