On Wednesday, January 6th, join the Underwater HOA for our first virtual monthly meeting of 2021 with featured speaker Brian Haus, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Ocean Sciences at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science.  Dr. Haus will present: Transformative Advances in Environmental and Ocean Sciences, highlighting the progress with various technological tools that communities can use to manage coastal resilience initiatives and broaden diversity outreach goals.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A and conversation with members of the growing UHOA community.

Dr. Brian Haus is chair of the Department of Ocean Sciences at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. As a professor, Dr. Haus’ research focuses on experimental studies of coastal ocean surface currents for application to oil spill transport prediction and response (CARTHE), radar remote sensing of oceanographic processes from satellites in collaboration with CSTARS and from coastal radars, shelf and inlet dynamics, wave-current interactions, and laboratory studies of air-sea interactions in extreme winds, wave dynamics, turbulence and coastal structure design in the SUSTAIN laboratory.
