Engaged Projects

  • Yellow Bus” – Creating a dialogue with youth and families on how trauma, bullying and self-harm can impact lives and behaviors (in collaboration with Youth MOVE Through the Arts and parents from the Federation of Families for the 3rd Annual Youth & Family Empowerment Summit, Miami, FL).
  • In Search of Higgs boson” – Created five site-specific banners depicting the five search strategies scientists at CERN used to discover the Higgs boson which hang in the Large Hadrion Collider where the experiment occurred, providing crucial evidence to support the Standard model of Physics (in collaboration with Pete Markowitz for the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment at the CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva, Switzerland).
  • Water Paintings” – Capturing hydrologic data captured from a small watershed at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest to calculate all components of the water cycle for the catchment in real time, artistic data visualizations (in collaboration with Hubbard Brook Scientists, NH).
  • WaterViz” – Depicting the hydrologic processes at Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest through the visual arts, music, and information design.
  • Miami Beach Earth Day 2013” – Engaging students, faculty, organizations, businesses, and other individuals to pledge an eco-action to support our environment (hosted by the City of Miami Beach’s Parks and Recreation Department, Miami Beach, FL).
  • FLOR500” – Combining art, nature, and history to commemorate Florida’s quincentennial (presented by the FIU College of Architecture + the Arts Office of Engaged Creativity in partnership with the FIU School of Landscape Architecture, Viva Florida 500, Museum of Florida History, Florida Higher Education Arts Network, History Miami, Atlas of Florida Vascular Plants Institute for Systematic Botany, Florida Wildflower Foundation, and Espana Florida Foundation, Florida).
