A call for Native Flags in Congress On June 12, 2008, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (who represents the artist’s home district in the U.S. House of Representatives) delivered Cortada’s Native Flag to every one of her colleagues in Congress and asked them to plant the green flag and native tree in their district.
