Miami-Dade County Public Schools is, for the third year, partnering with artist Xavier Cortada in presenting Native Flags.  A native tree and project flag will be planted at every school on April 10th, 2012. Other presenting partners include the Reclamation Project at the Miami Science Museum, the Florida International University College of Architecture + The Arts | Office of Engaged Creativity (where Cortada serves as Artist-in-Residence), the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.Other Native Flags partners include the Deering Estate at Cutler (where visitors can see an exhibit of the project’s 12 featured species), The CLEO Institute, and the National Association of Counties.

 

On April 10, 2012, students at Madison Middle School participated in the Native Flags project.
