The X-Cam Archives

While the WebStudio is about a collaborative art-making process, the X-Cam demonstrates a less interactive process.  It simply provides you with a window into the artist's studio.  At random times, Cortada turns the webcams on in his studio and invites you to watch as he create his individual paintings and drawings.  

 

Archives of these X-Cam images will soon be available on this webpage. 

Although there is no live chatroom, participants will be able to post messages and give the artist general feedback on his work by posting messages in the X-Cam discussion forum.

 

About the WebStudio

The WebStudio is an Internet-based collaborative art project, which allows participants to interact with Miami artist Xavier Cortada through two webcams and a live chatroom. During the collaborative process, the composition, specific theme, and colors of the paintings will be determined by input provided through the live chatroom during scheduled sessions.

Participants are also encouraged to post writings on discussion forums and to e-mail scanned images and text on the painting's topic to the WebStudio.  Cortada will collage these unto the paintings.
