If you have a compliant browser but the chat applet won't load for you, you may have Java disabled within your browser. Please try the following:
Within the browser, click on "View" then "Internet Options". You should see a new window showing your general settings. Click on the "Security" tab in this window and make sure "Internet Zone" is selected in the Zone pulldown menu. What security level you decide upon is a personal and important decision, but we recommend against the Low setting. The medium setting should be fine, although you may be prompted before the Java chat will run. Simply affirm its execution. If you feel comfortable adjusting such things, you may use the Custom setting. The important thing in there, with regards to the WebStudio, is that Java is not disabled.
Once you are satisfied with your security settings try refreshing the chat page. If you still get errors try restarting the browser. Should nothing seem to work, please email webstudio@cortada.com with as much information you can (for example, what browser and version you're using, what operating system, what exactly the error message was, and what you tried already).

AOL with Windows 95/98 uses Internet Explorer's subsystem, so the process is similar to IE's. From with AOL, click on "My AOL" in the toolbar, then click on "Preferences". A window with several icons will open; click on the "WWW" icon. Another window will open with Internet options. Click on the "Security" tab and then follow instructions as for Internet Explorer (see above).
