Xavier Cortada's WebStudio

Participants' Gallery:  The Painting on Society

The Webstudio is about collaboration.  About a communal art process.   Naturally, it has major limitations.  Among them is the inability to clearly "see" the visual contributions made by individuals to the group art work.

This gallery aims at showcasing those images that have been scanned and e-mailed (webstudio@cortada.com) to the WebStudio for incorporation into the Love Painting.

Drawings, photographs, handwritten notes, and other images that have been scanned and e-mailed will be incorporated to the work in progress and will be profiled in this gallery.

I envision a painting where marital home-life is a microcosm of the notion of
civil liberties as a whole, where the husband's balls are tied to his tongue
(knot midway between - at approx. navel), showing how freedom of expression
is stifled by the fear of having his balls kicked in!!  Or afraid to say what
is really on his balls/mind (really the same organ sometimes, eh?) for fear
of the tongue lashing he'll get.

WebStudio:  The Painting on Society

During the month of May 1999, WebStudio participants focus on the topic of society and create "The Painting on Society" through a collaborative process that builds upon the work from the preceeding WebStudio sessions.

Participants interested in viewing what others have contributed can see the chatroom and image logs documenting the process.  Naturally, more participant input is available at the Participant's Gallery and in the Discussion Forum on Society.
