Wind Words

The "Wind Words" project is designed as a collaborative effort, aimed at placing people's words as their proxy in Antarctica. While in Antarctica, the artist will receive messages posted on a blog (see http://artantarctica.blogspot.com), asking that certain phrases be "shared" with the world.

At the South Pole, the artist will speak the words into the katabatic winds rolling down the glacier, out to the Weddell Sea and north to the rest of  the world.  Cortada will do the same from the sea ice at the McMurdo Station.

The  words will come from environmentally-themed phrases and/or New Year's wishes participants will be encouraged to submit online.

Video clips documenting the spoken words will be posted online.
